Rolando Village is one of those neighborhoods lucky enough to retain its unique 1920’s charm. Since its development, this community has maintained a strong, neighborly sense of pride. As described by Jim D. Newland, Rolando was “named after the rolling topography of the land—with a popular 1920s ‘Spanish-style’ linguistic twist”. During the early development of Rolando Village, it was touted to be San Diego’s version of what Hollywood living is to Los Angeles.
The Soft Pack is celebrating their self titled release this Tuesday by throwing a FREE SHOW at the Tower Bar. Beaters are also on the bill in support of the release. As a reminder, BLENDS currently has the Beaters White Hate 7-inch for sale. Click the images to have a listen.
We are proud to introduce you to some new products from our good friends at Art Fag Recordings and Zoo Music. Art Fag Recordings is a record label headed by Mario Orduno and Zoo Music is owned by Dum Dum Girls’ Kristen Gundred and the Crocodiles’ Brandon Welchez. Both are San Diego-based record labels with deep roots within our local music scene. The Dum Dum Girls will be releasing a record under the world famous Sup Pop label on March 30th. Additionally, we will be the ONLY shop to carry Zoo Music in San Diego and each pressing is SUPER limited.
