JULZ has been a big supporter of the BLENDS family since day one. Along with Mark Marcelo, he’ll be the tunesmithing our 5-Year Anniversary Party, “Five Year Function”, this Friday, February 26th. He’s definitely a true artist.

There’s a ton of great places to get Mexican food in San Diego, but few have a scenic view as good as Bull Taco.
Due to production issues on Nike’s part we regret to inform you that we will not be receiving our Copper Foamposites that were supposed to come out this weekend at all. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and will do whatever it takes to make this right with our customers.
I had the pleasure if visiting the Kristján Gudmundsson at Quint Contemorary Art in Ja Jolla. Here are some of the photos that I took. The show runs through March 6th.
Gudmundsson (born 1941) is an important and central figure of the first generation of Icelandic conceptual art – intelligent, severe, humoristic and poetic. Kristján began his career in the 1960s as a member of SÚM, a group of young artists, many of who were influenced by then-new currents in conceptual and installation art, mainly through the Fluxus movement. His seemingly meandering oeuvre consists of series of works that are surprising in their manifestations and, despite their different appearance, form an uncompromisingly consistent whole that respects the same values. He has masterfully joined Minimalism and Conceptualism.
Rolando Village is one of those neighborhoods lucky enough to retain its unique 1920’s charm. Since its development, this community has maintained a strong, neighborly sense of pride. As described by Jim D. Newland, Rolando was “named after the rolling topography of the land—with a popular 1920s ‘Spanish-style’ linguistic twist”. During the early development of Rolando Village, it was touted to be San Diego’s version of what Hollywood living is to Los Angeles.
