Best known for his work for depicting raw slow-motion video direction especially his work with Flying Lotus' Until the Quiet Comes (viewable at the end of the photo sequence below), the Seattle born, Los Angeles based, director Khalil Joseph presents a short film.
m.A.A.d plays itself to two projected screens with rich videography of the streets of Los Angeles predominantly sequencing Afro-American neighborhoods and the joys / struggles of youth in these communities. This short-film gives its viewers a more introspective look at the side of Southern California often ignored by media and the box office, as well as gives life to m.A.A.d. City, Kendrick Lamar's platinum selling debut album.
This short will continue to loop at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Grand Avenue in Los Angeles until 16th of August. If you haven't seen it already, make sure you check it out.
